With VisualFusionCentral®, Batenburg JB Systems provides a comprehensive Remote Operation System that combines ultra-low-latency video, augmented process information and ergonomic operator workstations. Operators retain maximum control, even without a direct view of the process.

We achieve this through VisualFusionCentral® system topology, which includes a camera network, PLC integration and a remote operator station.

Why VisualFusionCentral®?

VisualFusionCentral® is designed to deliver low glass-to-glass latency. Depending on the choice of cameras and network architecture, the system achieves:

• Process-critical cameras: minimal latency for immediate operator feedback

• Surveillance & CCTV video: near real time (typically 120–200 ms) depending on the choice of hardware

Low latency is crucial because:

• Controls feel natural and predictable

• Corrections remain intuitive

• Unsafe situations are prevented. Excessive latency leads to disorientation, imprecise control and increased safety risks.

What makes Remote Operation efficient

Multiple video streams in a single operator environment

VisualFusionCentral® brings all relevant camera images together in a single powerful operator environment. The system combines low-latency IP cameras for process-critical applications with pan/tilt and PTZ cameras, and can also integrate SDI cameras if required. Existing CCTV or NVR systems are seamlessly incorporated into the environment.

Thanks to smart features such as Picture-in-Picture and multi-monitor configurations, the operator always maintains maximum overview, without compromising on speed or precision in control.

Real-time Digital Twin for additional insight (optional)

For complex and critical operations, VisualFusionCentral® can be expanded with a real-time digital twin. This runs in parallel with live video images and process data, adding extra context to the operation. This makes the system ideally suited for training and simulation, as well as for in-depth diagnostics and analysis during or after the operation.

Brand and control system independent

VisualFusionCentral® is completely vendor-agnostic and designed for maximum flexibility. The system is independent of crane or machine manufacturers and can be applied to both existing and new control systems. Integration takes place via a PLC interface, for example using Profinet or Ethernet.

This makes the solution ideal for brownfield sites, modernisation projects and phased upgrades, without the need for major modifications to existing installations.

Ergonomic Remote Operator Stations

In addition to software and infrastructure, VisualFusion also supplies complete, customised ergonomic operator solutions. Depending on the application, these consist of a remote operator desk or operator chair, combined with multi-monitor or video wall configurations.

Control elements such as joysticks, pushbuttons and panel PCs are logically positioned, ensuring that vision control and scene selection are always within easy reach. This results in reduced physical strain, improved concentration and consistent operation across multiple assets and locations.

VisualFusion++ software platform

The heart of the system is the VisualFusion++ software platform. This software provides low-latency vision processing and supports video over IP, HD-SDI and even 4K applications. Thanks to the HTML5 widget engine and scene-based configuration, operator- and process-driven layouts can be flexibly configured.

Scenes can be selected manually by the operator, but can also be activated automatically based on PLC sequences. As a result, the user interface always aligns perfectly with the current operation and situation in the field.
